'A Christmas Carol' tells the story of a bitter old miser named Ebenezer Scrooge and his transformation into a gentler, kindlier man after visitations by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come.

'A Christmas Carol' is a novella by Charles Dickens, first published in London by Chapman & Hall on 19th December 1843. Dickens believed the best way to reach the broadest segment of the population over his concerns on poverty and social injustice was to write a deeply felt Christmas story rather than polemical pamphlets and essays. He produced a tale that would prove both profitable and popular. The blind honest hope that no-one, not even the meanest spirited individual is unreachable for redemption gives 'A Christmas Carol' it's ultimate charm and can warm the iciest of hearts on the coldest night. One night to change your life: Should you..?

The Party controls everything in Oceania, even the people's history and language. Currently, the Party is forcing the implementation of an invented language called Newspeak, which attempts to prevent political rebellion by eliminating all words related to it. Even thinking rebellious thoughts is illegal. Such thought-crime is, in fact, the worst of all crimes. Winston falls in love . . .

The manipulative and mind-torturing Mildred Ratched rules the ward with a mailed fist and with little medical oversight. The story unfolds around each inmate, why they are there, their insecurities, issues and above all lack of belief that they can survive in the real world. McMurphy's antagonistically and aggressive behavior changes the ward's atmosphere beyond repair, despite his unorthodox mental 'healing' of each of the inmates, who begin to question their existence and Nurse Ratched's control over them.
